I was quite thrilled and excited to hear this news, DOGA to come alive on Bollywood. Whoz DOGA? He is Super Hero character created by Raj Comics. Including DOGA Raj Comics has created a lot of Super Heros like Nagraj, Super Comando Druv etc. Druv being my favorite.
DOGA
Well as kid I was kind of comics buff. Summer holidays was time of Comics, when we were allowed to read comics officially 
, and yes I have read comics in class room also using the trick of keeping it inside books. We used to save our pocket money to purchase them. Getting the latest released comics of your favorite superhero was kind of great achievement. Nowadays I dont see them being sold, especially at Railway stations where I used to purchase. I guess the kids these days are more into XBOX, PSP, IPODs.
As far as I know there were two rivals in the Indian Comics world, Diamond Comics and Raj Comics, Diamond Comics were having more witty characters like the Famous Chacha Chaudhary, Billu, Pinki etc where as raj comics was more into Super Hero concept. I used to read both Diamond and Raj Comics.
I used to think if DC Comics can why cant Raj Comics. And I still remember one of the comic “Super Comando Druv and Khuni Khilone”which I thought can be a great movie.
Regarding DOGA, I have read some of his comics, a Hero of Mumbai who can talk and is friend with dogs, a Gym buff and Adrak Chacha as his mentor. More about him here.
None other than Anurag Kashyap is making the movie. He only has the ability to make a movie like this. He had made some movies thinking out of box, like Dev D, No Smoking etc. DOGA is going to be Kunal Kapoor, atleast he will be main character of the movie.
If this concept works then we will see DOGA 2, DOGA 3…..and then some other Super Heros like Nagraj and Dhruv may also come to silver screen. Who might play the role of Nagraj?? Hrithik Roshan?? 
and Super Comando Drhuv?? hmmmm how about Akshay Kumar or Imran Khan (a third chance to be action hero after being flop in Kidnap and Luck

Pabbu – you not kidding right? Awesome thing to have happened to Indian screen…imagine the super hero craze if its caught up – and the extent the directors are going to exploit it….Though, I haven’t read the Doga….I think my childhood was also with comics and yeah, we all have done that – reading comics in classes.
I was a fan of Chacha Chaudhary and Tinkle. I still remember reading the book ‘Chacha Chaudhary and Raaka’, ‘Chacha Chaudhary and the Raaka returns’, Agniputhra Abhay, Pinki, Billoo….etc
I agree, we should also have our own set of super heroes, unlike only Batman, Superman or Spidey….imagine the great Sabu becoming a supreme hero…..I would love to see this on big screen…I think some TV series was running on Chacha Chaudhary…don’t remember it though

Yeah…there were series of Chacha Chaudhary and Raka, his return and his return as Raka was invincible. I guess the Raka series can be made to movies, and yes there was TV series on Sahara.
Lets see how Doga goes

I am also the fan of comic book from my childhood.and from that,I used to think that will I seen such heroes in Movie… I appreciate Anurag Kashyap for his try… Best Luck.. But I want action in Doga like Batman,and not like Krissh… plz

@chandan @bhuwan I heard the shooting is currently stopped as Anurag is completing another movie, after that it seems that he is going to US to learn special effects…hope DOGA is of Hollywood standards.

pabi – tatz quite interesting news. i had also liked DOGA. but i am a big fan of Super Commando DHRUV though and as you also have said; this is one superhero that had some real good stories which are fit for big screen. Though i would like to mention here that one of the main villain had a robocop inspired look and costume was definitely influenced by superman. Nevertheless, great time pass. There were even desperate times, when comics were read on rent from some random guys. crazy days here again…..

@Rajeev….yes Super Commando Druv is real hero…and I remember one such comic….Super Commando Druv aur Khuni Khilone…where the villian was a dwarf small man who made toy army…great story to be made as movie or an animated movie

m a big fan of doga…n it was my dream to see doga on silver screen…doga is the best superhero to be brought to the silver screen coz his stories are very close to real world..wid a hero wid no supernatural powers n no supernatural villians..so it can be liked by all age grup..looking forward for this movie..
