I was very much annoyed of the User Account Control (UAC) pop up that comes whenever you want to install a software, or do some activity on your Vista Machine. After lot of research I fond the solution to disable it at least for the Administrator of the Vista machine.

To disable the UAC first type secpol.msc in the “START search text box”

You will get the Local Security Policy Window, here go to Local Policies>>Security Options in the left Pane,

then double click the “User Account Control: Behavior of the elevation prompt for administrators in Admin Approval Mode” from the right Pane, and select the Elevate without prompting option in the drop down. Click Apply and OK. And you are free of those annoying pop ups.

Today i.e 17 June is Download day and the day when much awaited final version of FireFox 3 will be released. I was checking from the morning for the link to download it. However the news is its the download day for US, the download link will be up at 10 am (17:00 UTC) which means 10:30 PM India time.

The record of most downloaded will be set up by Firefox 3, as no other software or browser has that record. We Indians can download it tomorrow as the record is to set for most downloaded application in 24 hours from the time of its release.

People have pledged here to download it and set the world record, even I am one of them. Download it within 10:30 PM on 18 June and be a part of the world record.

After reading “Five Point Someone” I was so excited to read this next bestseller. However I didn’t like this one as I liked Five Point Someone. May be because of too much of unreal things happening at the end. However this story is more matured one, and is the story of one night spent by 6 call center executives.

The story has Shyam, the hero and narrator, his love Priyanka, Vroom, Radhika, Esha and Military Uncle. It was good to read and I remembered the days when I was working in a BPO and those night shifts. The world is too different there, and you will not feel the time. I was agent Pete same way as these characters had names. The funda of 35-10 was also great, it means that you should treat a 35 yrs old customer to be a 10 yrs old child. Even I used to get frustrated when I had to tell the customers where is the START button, WINDOWS key etc. My favourite line when our lead used to shout: “Customara liyooo yaroooon…..“

Those people working in call centers will especially relate to the story. I am thankful that I don’t have or had a boss like Bakshi in the story. Soon you will be able to see the film based on this story. Film is named Hello. The star cast is great, at least I liked it and suits the characters especially Sharman Joshi as Shyam and Gul Panag as Priyanka. Hope the film does well, I guess this story will look good on screen as compared to Five Point Someone. The star cast are:

“Five Point Someone” by Chetan Bhagat….this is the story I just read, and I just loved each and every part of it. I know its quiet an old book to read, and heard a lot about it but got the chance to read couple of days ago. And guess what I liked it so much that a lazy Buffalo like me has finished this book in just two or three sessions. It is the first ever story for which I have laughed while reading!!. I used to think that idiots laugh while reading books, like reading chutkule from those Champaks.

The whole story is about three friends Ryan, Hari and Alokand their great experience in IIT. The story is full of fun and everything which makes one to carry on the reading. I will not say much about the story, if you haven’t its a must read. I am looking forward to read the next one “One Night @ Call Center” and just released “3 Mistakes”

Guess what a film is being made on the story and will be directed by “Raj Kumar Hirani” Munnabhai” director and other people going to be in the star cast are Amir Kan as Ryan, Kareena as Neha and Madhavan as Hari. This info is not 100% correct I found the info in a website. Hope the movie goes out well, but I think some fresh blood should be have been taken for it. They seem somewhat older to do those roles. What do you say. May be Imran Khan (cousin of Amir… Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na), Genelia DSouza, Shahid Kapoor etc would have been great for the film.

On 4th April we started for a trip to Vaishno Devi and Delhi. We had a tight schedule and the return date was 9th April. I have been to Vaishno Devi when I was in Engg 1st year, this was my second time and for some reason not to be disclosed publicly .

The start: “New Shamshabad airport of Hyderabad”

As the journey plan was decided long ago, I had booked tickets from Hyderabad to Delhi in Jetlite long back when Begumpet airport was in full flow. I was quite excited when I got to know that we need to board flight from the new Shamshabad Airport. On 4th April afternoon at around 1:30 PM I started for “Paryatak Bhawan” which is one of the location from where GMR operates the shuttle bus service, it is in greenlands and I reached there by walk. The buses are okay and fare is Rs 95, runs every half an hour from 3:30 am. The bus started at 1:30 PM and it reached the airport at 2:45 pm I guess. The airport is tooo good, and looks wonderful, and really looks like an international airport. Begumpet airport is nothing compared to it. However its tooooooooooo far.

The Jetlite experince

Our flight was booked in Jetlite, which was previously Sahara. As per our planning we had to catch the train (Uttar sampart Kranti) to Jammu at 8 45 pm on 4th April itself. We were hoping that flight will reach at time. This Jetlite was supposed to come from Coimbatore and departure time was 4 50 pm and was scheduled to reach Delhi at 7 pm. I didn’t know that it comes from Coimbatore because of which it is bound to be late. It came about half an hour late. The strange thing was there was no announcement, while every other airline was making announcements, we had to enquire ourself. Anyways the flight departed at around 5 30 pm, and we were hoping that it will reach by at least 7 15 pm. But….it reached at 8 30 pm!!!!! the reason was because of bad weather. So we had only 15 mins to reach New Delhi station, which is impossible. We ran like anything and booked a taxi, and reached station at 9 15 pm, we had already made all the plans and had decided to book flight to Jammu. The biggest surprise was the train was still there as if it was waiting for us and it left at 9 30 pm. It was a big big relief to us and saved us nearly 6k.

Vaishno Devi

It was raining all the way from delhi to Jammu, as soon we reached Jammu we boarded a bus to Katra, which is the starting point for the Maa Vaishno Devi. Katra is around 46 km from Jammu and frequent buses are there from the jammu station.  We reached Katra at around 11 am, and all people were seen wearing those weired Rs 10 raincoat, even we took 2 of these, everybody were seen in white one, we thoght to be different and took pink one (note: we are not gay ). We booked a hotel which cost us Rs 550, it was a good one.

After having aloo paratha to recharge ourself we started for the trip wearing those odd looking pink raincoats. We took the pass given at Katra itself for the trip and took an auto to reach the starting point. As my father is serving Air force I took a special pass available for defence personnel and there dependents. The plus point of this pass is that you a special line for darshan of Maa Vaishno Devi.

It was raining and raining….and we started, rhyming Jai Mata Dii…..the total distance is 12.5 kms. Different stalls are there and after some distance there are “Vishram Sthall” where you may relax a bit if tired. Our starting time was 2 pm and we had the target of 5 pm. There were lot of security check on the way. Just before ArdhKuwari which is somewhat half way, there is a new way made which reduces the distance as compared to the original way. There are battery operated vehicles which can be boarded by PH or people with medical problems. However we walked all the way, enjoying the scenery. It was quite cold and the rain was making it worse. I remember the kid whos father first said it storm out there and his son said….”Ek banda uddan lagan siii” (One guy was about to fly because of the storm) :).

Anyways we reached ”Bhawan” at around 6 pm, took the prasad, put all leather, shoes and metal items in locker. Bare foot was too difficult there and it felt as if our ankles has been cut. The Darshan is closed from 6 30 to 8 30 pm because of aarti. So we had to wait. By the time we got darshan it was around 9 15 pm. As it was quite a lot cold out there we decided to take blankets, which is available for Rs 100 as a security deposit. Wrapped ourself in the blankets and without waiting we started the return journey down the hill. Our feet were already paining, in between we had rajmah chawal and at a steady pace we kept on moving. I was counting each km and waiting when that time will come when we will be in our hotel.

Could not have the darshan of “Ardhkuwanri” as it was quite late and very less energy was left in us. There are some stairs also which we took to reduce the distance. And finally we reached the starting point at around 1 30 am. We again had the dinner of aloo paratha and retired to bed.

Next day was very difficult as walking only was very painfull. We had to leave the hotel by 12 noon and we need to catch train at Jammu so some how I managed and reached Jammu station, after waiting for some hours the train came I slept like a buffalo.

Abbb Dillli duur nahin

We were somewhat better after reaching New Delhi and as per plan we were going to stay with my mama (he is smaller than me) who stays near Akshardham Temple. I have been to Delhi several times but didnt get the chance to visit its great places and monuments. It was our bad luck that we reached on Monday as most of the watchable places are closed like the Lal Qila. We did see the India Gate on Monday.Went to Palika Bazaar, which is quite famous there in Delhi and India. You may get things at very cheap rate, but you should know the art of bargaining. We also traveled in the Metro. It was really a great experience. Now just waiting for the day when Metro starts here in Hyderabad.

Next day early morning at around 5 30 am we went out for a super fast bike ride on the Delhi Gurgaon highway. The Highway  is like you see in films, and all the vehicles run at very very high speed. I went upto DLF mall, which I heard is India largest. There is also a Toll bridge which has lots and lots of gates. After coming back we conqured lal qila which we could not the day before. It was a nice experience. Here ends our tour and we were ready for another experience, we had booked tickets in Delhi Bangalore Rajdhani Express, It was named Airtel Rajdhani express, airtel might have sponsored it, the funda of Rajdhani is eat then sleep and again eat and sleep and nothing else.

This piece of writing is most suitable to people having Sony Ericsson mobile with GPRS and having Airtel connection. Also it isnt that costly, 10 paisa per 10 kb download which is quite okay. I know lot of people don’t like Vista….but I love it…..and after Installing DreamScene I am loving it. DreamScene is nothing but the application that makes the wallpaper dynamic or a movie can be put as a wallpaper. If you have Vista Ultimate just go to “Windows Ultimate Extra” from start button then “Windows Ultimate Extras available” select the “Windows Dreamscene” and the content packs.

After successful installation just change the wallpaper from the new Menu in “Desktop Background” called the “Windows DreamScene Content”. Select any of the videos available. Remember if you need to download all the content packs, otherwise you will have only one.

This might be more load to your system, however for a good configured system, this should be any issue.

Its a new addition to Ohris chain of restaurant at Necklace road beside Moksh or Nissan showroom and of course in Hyderabad. While I was searching the net for the phone number, I just got two bad experiences about it, one in Mouthshut and one from the blog of Dhruv Shanker, (Mad Onion Slicer).

However, I wanted to try it by myself, and as one of my colleague was supposed to give his promotion party we opted for the Lunch buffet. Finding the place was not an issue as some days ago we went to Moksh and it is just beside it.

There is some parking problem there, however we didn’t face any. It is on 3rd floor and there are two options one outside in the open area and another inside, as it was hot Hyderabadi afternoon, sitting outside was out of scope. And inside its like a tunnel, with a small fountain type of thing in between. Most of us said “wow” and even I liked the ambiance.

Next comes the food, there are lot of choices you may make. You have pizza both veg and non veg, 3 types of non veg item (may be more), different salads, chats, and the regular buffet items like nans, noodles, rice, biryani………..in short lots to choose from.

Food is good, however my colleagues didnt like some of the items like the Biryani, Fish and some methi ka chicken, I didn’t even try them, as had lot to choose from.

Finally the deserts, my favourite, there was 4 different flavour of ice cream, with the chocolate sauce…..rasmalai, pastries, rasgulla and some strawberry mousse.

In my view for buffet its a good choice, for Rs 179/- its worth. Will try the dinner and the sizzlers for which it is famous for. And regarding the service I didn’t find any issue.
